Every product is different. Parts with no secondary labor are just as economical to mold in the United States as overseas, but if you require secondary labor, maybe China makes sense. If the part is bulky or the volume is small, it may be more economical to mold in the United States and assemble in Mexico. We can offer all of this to you. We have several jobs where the molds are made in China, we mold the parts in our facility and the final assembly is done in Mexico.
The mold shops we work with in China all have different specialties and capabilities. They are all good shops but there are some better than others. After evaluating your requirements we are able to determine the mold shop, or shops, best suited for your mold. Besides the mold we also receive all mold drawings, EDM electrodes, cad files, and special fixtures that were used to make the mold. This enables us to do any repair or modification that may be required in our mold shop with the same quality as if we had made it ourselves; therefore we offer the same lifetime warranty on these molds as we do on our domestic molds, usually at a fraction of the mold cost.
Through our Hong Kong office we can also offer low cost CAD design. Our designers specialize in ProE, Solid Works, and AutoCAD designs. The average cost is 30% of comparable quality United States design prices. We can act as your broker for all of your needs from China. Some of the items we broker for our customer are: die cast parts, circuit boards, transformers, soft goods, neon and fluorescent tubes as well as machined products. We will do all the importing and deliver the product to your door. Terms are also available.
